Surgery Update

Christopher had his re-check today with the pediatric urologist. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. So, sometime in April or May, Christopher will be having his first surgery. They are hoping to only make two small incisions in the scrotum and not two in the scrotum and two in his tummy. Hopefully it will be minor. The hard part is going to be the recovery. Christopher will need to be "still and quiet" for 2 to 3 days after surgery and then will not be allowed to run and play for two weeks. So tell me, how do you keep an active 4 year old boy still and quiet and not let him run? I wonder if we can sedate him for his recovery!

So there is the update. When we know a date, I will get back to you!

Wow that recovery does sound challenging. Especially at school where you can't be there to MAKE him be calm.

Not that you want him in pain, but maybe he will feel sore and not want to bounch around.

poor christopher.. I hope the surgery goes quick and with as little pain as possible. And i feel for you too Pam.. it cant be easy putting your little one thru surgery. But chris is a strong little guy and im sure he'll do great.

Get some Actifed! I used to call it "mother's little helper". He will do fine, you'll see! Children are way better patients than we adults are!
