This is a picture of the first time I got to hold my babies. They were three days old. I could only hold them for 15 minutes. (I did share and let Jim hold his daughter after I held them both for a few minutes) We were only "allowed" to hold them for 15 minutes twice a day. They could not be out from under the warmers for longer than that. They were so tiny and if they got chilled, it took them HOURS to warm back up.
I still remember this day just like it was yesterday. I had only been allowed to touch the twins under the warmers. I rolled into the NICU that morning and the nurse looked at me and said "We are going to trry something new today." I burst into tears. I said "You're going to let me hold them, aren't you?" She smiled and told me to stop crying before I made her cry too! I was so thrilled to be able to hold my babies for the first time! It seemed like I had waited forever for that moment! What a blessing!

This made me tear up! I just could not imagine not getting to see or even hold my babies for so long.. I dont know how you, Heather, and my sister were able to do that! However, you do look VERY happy in the pic!
Nothing like a mother's love for her children!
