Open House

Tonight was open house at school. The twins are headed off to Palmer this school year. We went early. When we got to the school, both Christopher and Caitlin were hiding behind us. While this is normal for Caitlin, it is not so normal for Christopher. They warmed up pretty fast though. Christopher is in Ms Hixon's class and Caitlin is in Ms Register's class. They are right next door to each other. The good news is that all the kindergarten classes do thing together. So they will be at recess and lunch together. I am hoping that this will make the transition a little easier for Caitlin. Bless her heart, she is terrified of change. She has spent the entire summer telling me she is NOT going to kindergarten or to any school at all. She is staying home and Christopher is going to school. Both the teachers seemed very nice, but we will see. I am nervous. My babies are really growing up. I have known it for a long time, but every big milestone they hit just reminds me how far they have come from those premature little babies.

They can ride the bus this year again too. I have mixed feelings about it, but I think I will go ahead and let them ride the bus. They loved the experience last year. What makes it different this year is that the bus is for k-5 not just pre-k like last year. It is a big step. I know they will be fine though.

So, open house is over. Now on to the first day of school. My babies...off to kindergarten!
