So, Jim left yesterday for about two weeks. About fifteen minutes after he walked out the door, the phone rings. Christopher is in the nurse's office at school and does not feel well. Please come and get him. Okay...off I go. Get him home, no fever, no vomiting, no nothing but his tummy hurts. Fast forward an hour..the vomiting begins...and continues and continues...then it starts coming out the other end. Great, this is a GOOD time! Poor baby was miserable. And so was mommy! It is so hard to watch your baby suffer and know there is nothing you can do for him. He could not even hold down water....so after a call to my mom and a call to the Dr, off to the ER we went. (Well, okay, AFTER I had cleaned everything in sight and thrown him in the shower and done two loads of laundry cuz he was throwing up and pooping on everything in sight!) Caitlin was picked up at the bus stop by Laura and taken to her house. My plan, to keep Caitlin out of the house and maybe keep her from getting sick. The Dr confirmed that we had been hit with the Norovirus. Wonderful! He did give Christopher something for his tummy. It worked magic...all of a sudden Christopher was talking up a storm and bouncing off the walls. Good news...well kinda. We were finally sent home from the ER about 8:30pm. (We got there a little before 5pm) We picked up his perscription and headed home. I got him settled into bed and quickly followed. He was up a couple of time during the night to use the bathroom, but that was it. Then my phone rang at about 4am. Caitlin was now throwing up...guess that plan failed! Damn! So she came home about 5:30am or so...Christopher woke up...and stayed up! I did get them to lay down for about 30minutes but they were both up and playing by 7am. Neither one the worse for wear. Caitlin did not get hit nearly as bad as her brother. Thank goodness! So here I sit, after a day of toast, popsicles, graham crackers, ginger ale and watered down juice. I am TIRED! But tomorrow, I think we will be off the hook, the kids will be fine and I am PRAYING that I do not get sick! Bright side? My house smells like a pinesol commercial! Woohoo...down side..I may NEVER want to clean another toilet again!
Hope everyone else avoids this bad boy! It passes FAST, but make syou miserable while it is around!
