Baseball Begins!

Our first baseball game of the season was yesterday. Not a great day for a first game. It was 47 degrees when the game started and 43 degrees when the game ended! The kids were COLD and so was I! They are still getting the hang of having the ball pitched to them. And yesterday was not a good hit day. Neither one of the kids hit the ball. Christopher was playing short stop and he made a couple of GREAT stops. Caitlin was playing right field and she stopped a few balls too. (She also picked some flowers and goofed off, but I guess right field is the place to let that happen!) They were both upset about not hitting the ball and I can tell this is going to be a LONG season and a rough adjustment. For Caitlin, I am not sure if she will play again after this season, but she may surprise me! She has a great swing and she is FAST when she wants to be. So who knows, she may show us all and be a star! Christopher has lots of potential..we just need to make sure he doesn't get too upset when he doesn't hit the ball. It is so sad as mom to have them crying after the game and thinking that they played badly. But it is just the first game. They will get better as the season continues! Let's go A's!!!
