Kindergarten Awards

The last week of school arrived and they held an awards program for the kindergarten classes. Jim was out to sea, but I went to the program. I am so glad I went! Every child got an award. They were called by name and their awards were announced. It was very sweet. Christopher got awards for good citizenship and home reading. Caitlin got awards for excellent citizenship, home reading, and a good attendance. They stood up with their classes and seemed very proud of their awards, but the best was yet to come. After all the children had been announced, the Principal stood and told us that one child from each class had been picked to receive the Principals Award. The child who received this award was picked by his or her teacher as the most outstanding child in their class. I suspected Caitlin was receiving this awards since her teacher had emailed me to make sure I was attending the ceremony. I was correct, Caitlin was announced as the recipient for her class. I was so proud! Then my heart swelled even further..the Principal went on to state that "Sometimes good things come in two's because the award for Ms Green's class goes to Christopher Hicks." I was speechless! I couldn't have been prouder of my babies! Both of them received the award for their classes. The only sad part was that Jim was not there to share it with us! So here are some pictures of my babies at the awards ceremony! And yes, I am one proud mama!!!
